Serialized Reporting
Documentation
Also known as: Serial-number tracking
Reporting that identifies individual assets by serial number rather than only by quantity or weight.
What to specify in a serialized report
Agree on a sample report before pickup. Useful fields include your asset tag, the manufacturer serial number, device type, receiving status, sanitization or destruction outcome, final disposition and any exception. Identify the source of each identifier so missing or duplicate numbers can be reconciled.
For example, a receiving record may show that a laptop arrived while its processing result remains pending. A closeout report should let you connect that result to the asset and any applicable certificate or custody record.
How ecoTech handles it
- Serial-level reporting can be specified for your project, including how your internal asset IDs appear.
- Reports can be grouped by project, site or department.
- Closeout can include the agreed asset list, serial-level processing results, destruction certificates and recovery-value reconciliation.
Question to ask your ITAD provider
Which events and outcomes are recorded for each serial number?
